About Film Festival Expert Carl Spence

Current clients and projects include working with companies FilmFreeway and Eventive; work with the Miami Film Festival and the Orcas Island Film Festival along with advising independent filmmakers and producers.

As Festival Director and Chief Curator, Carl Spence was instrumental in growing the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) into one of the largest film festivals in North America over the past two decades along with spearheading SIFF’s successful expansion as Seattle’s leading independent theatrical exhibitor with three cinemas. He also held Director of Programming positions with the Palm Springs International Film Festival and with the San Francisco International Film Festival. In 2014, he co-founded Orcas Island Film Festival and currently acts as the Festival Co-Director and Chief Curator and is also a senior programmer for the Miami Film Festival.
